BIOGRAPHY
Sasha Grey is not your usual porn star and is currently getting a lot of press with her mainstream low-budget indie drama called “The Girlfriend Experience” being released this month. Written by Oscar-winning Steven Soderbergh, Sasha Grey portrays a $2,000-an-hour Manhattan call-girl working the so-called San Pornando Valley?

Look up what a Girlfriend Experience is at Urban Dictionary.
Born in Sacramento, Calif., Grey got her start in the adult industry when she was 18. She moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and her first scene was an orgy with Rocco Siffredi for John Stagliano’s Fashionistas Safado: The Challenge.
To date she has starred in over 150 films including “Sasha Grey’s Anatomy,” “House of Sex & Domination” and “Teenage Whores” (parts 2 and 3) and the most recent “This Ain’t Star Trek XXX” for Hustler Video. For her hard work, she took home the Adult Video News Awards’ female performer of the year in 2008. The youngest person to win.
The actress — real name Marina Ann Hantzis — is professionally distinguished by her take-no-prisoners attitude toward the hardest of hard-core sex scenes and consensual degradation.
Not long after her first movie, Grey appeared on an episode of “The Tyra Banks Show” that dealt with teenagers in the sex industry. Grey has complained that the show represented her poorly, and the episode has been considered somewhat controversial.
Less than a year after entering the industry (January 2007) Grey was the recipient of awards for Best Three Way Sex Scene and Best Group Scene at the AVN adult movie awards. She was also nominated as Best New Starlet. Grey was named Pet of The Month for July 2007 and was photographed by fashion photographer Terry Richardson.
Sasha has also stared in a recent installment of PG Porn called Roadside Ass-istance. Other famous starlets who have stared in James Gunn’s PG-PORN is Aria Giovannia, Jenna Haze, and Belladonna. Just YouTube it and you’ll find a fist full of the vids which are perfect ‘for people who love everything about porn….except the sex.’
Grey is becoming a household name and her cross-over success has earned her a cover on the Rolling Stone Magazine. She’s also behind a company, Grey Art, that will release her directorial porn debut: The F*ck Junkie.
Anyone who hums to their own tune and can make people sit up and think twice about this crazy industry deserves 2 thumbs up from our view. You may not agree with her style of films but you have to hand it to her for creating a cross-over media brand and she has played by her own rules!
Check out the GFE in theatres….and probably DVD sooner!
